NM State Announces Spanish Broadcast Schedule for Football and Men’s Basketball Games

In total, 11 games will be broadcast on 96.7 FM La Equis and the Varsity Network App.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, LEARFIELD's NM State Sports Properties, announced today that 96.7 FM La Equis – Las Cruces' only locally owned Spanish Radio Station – will broadcast the Aggies final regular season football game and select men's basketball games this season in Spanish. The Spanish language broadcasts will also stream on The Varsity Network App.

Fans can download the app for instant access to free gameday audio streams push notifications updates about upcoming boradcasts. Both the English and Spanish language broadcasts will be available on these select dates. 

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Bravo Mic Radio to make this happen in 2023-24," said NM State Sports Properties General Manager Matt LaBranche. "We now have the privilege of airing select football and men's basketball games in Spanish to Aggie Nation. In addition to locally on 96.7 FM, fans can listen across the entire country on our Varsity streaming platform. We're excited to bring this option to our loyal fan base." 

Commentators Abel Rodriguez and Eddie Rubio will bring NM State fans the action in the second-most commonly spoken language in the United States. In total, Rodriguez and Rubio will be on the call for one football game and 10 men's basketball games, including the Rio Grande Rivalry and all Conference USA home games.  

"Bravo Mic and La Equis 96.7 FM are excited to expand our Spanish programming offerings by teaming up with New Mexico State Athletics to broadcast future sporting events in Spanish," noted President and CEO of Bravo Mic Communications Mike Smith. "Bravo Mic and La Equis 96.7 FM are the leader in Las Cruces for Spanish radio, and we know there is a huge listening audience that will benefit from this partnership. This is a big win for Aggie Nation." 

The Spanish broadcasts will begin on Saturday, Nov. 21, when NM State football plays host to CUSA foe Jacksonville State in what will be the program's final home game of the season. Meanwhile, the first basketball game for which the broadcast will be available is Friday, Dec. 15, when the New Mexico Lobos travel to the Pan American Center for the 227th installment of the in-state rivalry.
