NM State Accepts Invitation to Play in 2023 Isleta New Mexico Bowl

| By:

The Aggies will take on Fresno State on Dec. 16 in Albuquerque, N.M.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – For the second time in as many years, NM State is bowl bound. Under Head Coach Jerry Kill, the 10-win Aggies have officially accepted an invitation to participate in the Isleta New Mexico Bowl, hosted on Dec. 16, 2023, in Albuquerque, N.M. The game is set to kickoff at 3:45 MT inside University Stadium.

On Sunday afternoon, the New Mexico Bowl also announced the Aggies' (10-4, 6-1 CUSA) opponent will be Mountain West foe Fresno State (8-4, 4-4 MW). In partnership with Isleta New Mexico Bowl, all bowl tickets for the Isleta New Mexico Bowl will be available for purchase exclusively through the UNM Ticket Office at 505-925-5626 or online at this link. Additionally, the NM State ticket office will not have any tickets available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible as we anticipate great demand to the in-state bowl game.

Tickets are now officially on sale and can be purchased online through the New Mexico Bowl at any time. The New Mexico Bowl Ticket Office located at 1111 University Blvd SE, Albuquerque, N.M., will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday. Any fans looking to buy tickets on Sunday will need to purchase online. NM State supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets on the east side of the stadium where the Aggies' bench will be located as the "visiting team" in the neutral site bout.

Fans may also visit nmstatesports.com/bowl to find additional information related to the Aggies' meeting with the Bulldogs in the Isleta New Mexico Bowl.

The trip to Albuquerque will represent the Aggies' sixth appearance in a bowl game and will mark the first time since the 1959 and 1960 seasons that the Aggies will compete in bowl games in consecutive years. Entering the 2023 Isleta New Mexico Bowl, the NM State program holds an all-time record of 4-0-1 in its previous five bowl game appearances – making them the only FBS program without a bowl game loss and at least one bowl game appearance.

This year's edition of the Isleta New Mexico Bowl will also be shown on the ESPN family of networks and will represent the Aggies' seventh nationally televised game this season.

NM State Director of Athletics Mario Moccia and Head Football Coach Jerry Kill will meet with members of the media on Monday at 11 a.m. to formally discuss the bowl invitation. Additional information will be posted to the NM State Football social media pages as it becomes available in the coming days.
