TUCSON, Ariz. – NM State closed the second and final day of competition at the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona with multiple top placements and personal bests recorded, including another gold-medal finish for
Jhana Downie. Not only did she take first in the 400m dash, she etched her named into third-place on the NM State all-time record book.
Jhana Downie recorded her second win of the weekend, this time taking her talents to the 400m dash, crossing the line with a time of 52.93. Not only does this time represent a personal best, it places her third on the all-time records for the event.

T'Erica Boyd,
Jhana Downie and
Jahnya Hill teamed up to finish in second place with a time of 3:44.74, good for eighth in the all-time NM State record book.
No stranger to top-five finishes in her career,
Makiya Moore led the Aggies in the discus toss, finishing in fourth-place with a final distance of 48.81m (160-1"). This is the second-straight week she has earned a top-five placement in the event.
Valissa Brown tallied a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles, recording a lifetime best with a time of 13.59 (+0.9 m/s).
T'Erica Boyd captured eighth place with a time of 14.13 (+1 m/s) in her first time competing in the event.
Jody Blackwood led NM State in the 100m dash with a time of 12.23 (+0.8 m/s) to take 13
th place – her first time participating in the event and the fastest time for an Aggie this outdoor season.
Aileen Alvarado was the only Aggie to participate in the high jump, improving to a new personal best, finishing with a final mark of 1.60m (5-3"). Fellow freshman
Cameron Hodges recorded a personal best in the triple jump, posting a wind-adjusted mark of 11.77m (38-7.5", +0.9 m/s).

NM State has a busy week ahead, splitting the team between meets in multiple states. The Aggies are scheduled to participate in the Texas Relay's / Bobcat Invitational in Austin and San Marcos, Texas – the meet begins Wednesday March, 29
th and concludes Saturday, April 1
st. Starting on Friday, March 31
st and ending on Saturday, April 1
st, NM State is also scheduled to attend the Stanford Invitational / San Francisco St. Distance Carnival held in Palo Alto and San Francisco, California.
