LAS CRUCES, N.M. – An offensive explosion powered NM State to a run-rule victory over Stephen F. Austin on Friday night. The Aggies launched three home runs, including a pair by
Nolan Funke, in the 16-6 rout of the conference foe. Funke also became the first Aggie to tally four or more hits in a game this season, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle.
SFA opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. NM State found a spectacular answer in the bottom half of the frame, scoring five runs. The inning was highlighted by a
Preston Godfrey no-doubt two-run home run to right-center, immediately followed by extra base hits from

Brandon Dieter did so on April 25, 2021 versus Tarleton.
One inning later, Jones II matched his career-high with four runs batted in, following a two-run double to left field.
Kevin Jimenez contined the hit parade with a two-run knock of his own, coming in the form of a single through the left side.

Damone Hale ended the ballgame.
