LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The second day of action in Southern California has come and gone, leaving NM State just one final day of competition remaining before returning back home. Multiple Aggies recorded personal bests and strong performances.
Beach Invitational – Long Beach, Calif.
Miranda Tcheutchoua recorded a top-15 finish to go along with a new personal best mark in the hammer throw, recording a final distance of 58.18m (190-10").
Kaelyn Fenstermacher joined her in setting personal records in the event, as she smashed her previous best with a new mark of 49.51m (162-5").
Mt SAC Relays – Walnut, Calif.
The 4x400 relay team of
Jhana Downie,
T'Erica Boyd,
Jahnya Hill,
Terice Steen and
Breanna Moss teamed up to finish sixth with a time of 3:41.42. The 4x100 team of
Sierra Brewer,
Jhana Downie,
Terice Steen,
Grace Pendarvis and
Aliyah Logan also captured a sixth-place finish, posting a final time of 45.74.
Jhana Downie finished 12
th in a deep field in the 400m dash, crossing the line with a time of 53.67.
Terice Steen proved herself amongst elite talent in the 400m hurdles, recording a fifth-place finish after posting a final time of 59.39.
Aliyah Logan finished just short of qualifying for finals in the 100m hurdles, taking a tenth-place result after recording a time of 13.74 (-0.2 m/s).
Valissa Brown followed shortly behind, crossing the line in 13
th with a time of 13.98 (+0.2 m/s).
