Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List Includes Aggie Receiver Kordell David

David led the Aggies in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last season.

TYLER, Texas – Following a breakout year, Kordell David's selection to the 2023 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List would reflect another big season incoming for the wideout from Winnie, Texas.
 
Today, the 11th annual watch list for the award which recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity. This year's list includes 69 players from 10 conferences and one independent. The group includes players representing universities from 30 different states and 59 different programs.
 
Nominees also must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or currently playing at Texas Division I four-year college.
 
The Aggies' honoree was a graduate of East Chambers High School in Winnie, Texas, and finished the year as the Aggies' leading receiver by way of compiling 343 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. In total, David saw time in all 13 games and made 11 starts for the Aggies.
 
Last season, David recorded the Aggies' single-game high for receptions when he caught seven balls against Nevada. Additionally, Davids' 95 receiving yards in the regular season finale were the most in a single game by any Aggie receiver in 2023.
 
Prior to suiting up for the Crimson and White, David also played for a Texas-based junior college in Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas.
 
David is one of six Conference USA representatives on the Earl Campbell Award watch list as FIU, Liberty, Louisiana Tech, Sam Houston and UTEP also had one offensive standout on the watch list.
