NM State Heads to Albuquerque for William H. Tucker Intercollegiate

The two-day tournament will be the first in-state event for the Aggies

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After a pair of out-of-state tournaments, NM State men's golf finally gets a chance to compete in the Land of Enchantment, beginning Monday at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. Hosted by New Mexico, the Aggies will compete against a strong 20-team field that features five ranked opponents.
 
In the 2022 edition of the William H. Tucker, the Aggies finished sixth as a team, firing an 868 (+4). Individually, Garrison Smith led NM State with a third-place finish. Alvaro Morales will lead the Aggies as the No. 1 in the team lineup after shooting a 224 (+8) in last years running.
 
Morales will be joined by Mohamed Nizar Bourheim, Ethan Klose, Javier Delgadillo, and Anthony Lara. Delgadillo also competed in the William H. Tucker in 2022, tying for 45th and shooting a 222 (+6).
 
The trip to Albuquerque will be the first collegiate tournament for Bourheim, a sophomore from Rabat, Morocco. Klose, a transfer from South Mountain Community College, will also make his debut for the crimson and white this week. At South Mountain, Klose was a three-time All-American while also helping his team to the NJCAA Division II National Championship.

The Field
New Mexico will welcome a strong 20-team field to Albuquerque including No. 40 BYU, Colorado, Hawai'i, Kansas State, No. 27 Long Beach State, NM State, San Diego, No. 44 San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, No. 12 TCU, No. 17 Texas Tech, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV, USC, Utah Tech, UTEP, UTSA, and Wyoming.
 
All rankings are according to Golfweek's most recent collegiate team rankings, presented by StrackaLine.
 
Format
On Monday, the field will compete for 36 holes, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MT. The two-day event will conclude with 18 holes of play on Tuesday.
