NM State Sits in 12th After 36 Holes at Dale McNamara Invitational

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – NM State returned to action on Monday morning as they traveled to the Sooner State to compete in the Dale McNamara Invitational at Cedar Ridge Country Club. With two rounds in the books, the Aggies shot 48-over-par find themselves in 12th on the team leaderboard which includes a deep field of 16 programs.
 
On the day, no teams combined to shoot under par with Arkansas shooting even par to close the day as the leader in the clubhouse. NM State did submit better first days than both of their Conference USA counterparts competing in the event as Sam Houston shot +49 to land in a tie for 13th and Kennesaw State posted a combined score of 626 (+58) to end the day at the bottom of the team standings.
 
Individually, Emma Bunch submitted the lowest 36-hole score of the day for the Crimson and White as she currently sits in a tie for ninth place after shooting a 73 (+2) in the first round before bouncing back to post a 71 (E) in the second round. For Bunch, this puts an end to a streak of four consecutive tournament subpar rounds this season.
 
Meanwhile, Marley Moncada joins Bunch inside the top 20 after 18 holes as she shot a 74 (+3) in the first round before submitting a 73 (+2) in the second round to come in at 5-over for the day and in a tie for 25th.
 
Elsewhere, Isa Laulhé rounded out her day in a tie for 70th while Angela Garvin sits in a tie for 74th and Kaylee Chen finished the day tied for 81st.
 
The Aggies finished the day tied for the fifth-best par 5 score as they post and average score of 5.10 to finish 3-over on the par 5s across the first day of competition. Additionally, Emma Bunch's eagle on the par-4 11th was one of just three eagles on the day at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
 
NM State will return to the course on Tuesday morning for the final 18 holes and are scheduled to tee off at 7:30 a.m. MT. Fans can follow along with the Aggies via live scoring on GolfStat.com.
