DALLAS – One day after she earned the individual crown at the GCU Invitational, Emma Bunch has been named the CUSA Women's Golfer of the Week. This marks the second time that the sophomore has collected this honor during her Aggie career.
 
The native of Denmark helped lift the Aggies to their first team title of the season as she secured the top spot on the leaderboard with a score of 202 (-14) to finish three strokes clear of the next closest competitor at GCU Golf Course in Phoenix. Meanwhile, the Aggies turned in a final score of 846 (-18) to hoist their first trophy since winning the WAC Championship in 2022.
 
Bunch shot her way up the standings on Tuesday by shooting a six-under-par 66 in the tournament's opening round – equaling the lowest score of her collegiate career. She then followed this performance with a pair of impressively consistent rounds, shooting back-to-back 68s with one coming on Tuesday afternoon and the other occurring Wednesday morning during the final round of play. Across 54 holes, Bunch carded 14 birdies and three eagles while posting the lowest score by an individual in Phoenix in both rounds one and two.
 
Bunch's showing also came following a three-month layoff as the event in Arizona marked the first event for the Aggies this spring. She and the Aggies will return to action next Monday when they head to Jacksonville, Fla., to take part in the UNF Collegiate at Jacksonville Country Club – a tournament hosted by the University of North Florida.
