LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, the Aggies will have a new face on the sidelines. Head Coach
Rob Baarts announced on Monday the addition of Associate Head Coach Stacie Owers. "We are super excited to have Stacie join our Aggie soccer family," said Head Coach
Rob Baarts. "Her knowledge of the game, style of play and fantastic personality will be an amazing addition to the program. Please help us welcome Stacie, her husband Matt and their dog Trucker to Las Cruces!"
Owers joins NM State after two seasons as the head coach at Rhodes College, a DIII program in Memphis, Tenn. During her stint with the Lynx, she led the team to a 21-9-3 overall record, with an appearance in the Southern Athletic Association Championship during the 2023 campaign. "I would like to extend my gratitude to Rob and the administrative staff for welcoming me to the Aggie family. I am eager to collaborate with them and elevate our program to new heights. I can't wait to get started and make a positive impact on the school, program and community."
Prior to joining Rhodes College, Owers served as the head girl's soccer coach at Arlington High School for two seasons, leading the team to a district championship and a regional victory in 2020. Also an assistant for the Arlington boy's team, Owers helped the squad win their district championship and achieve a regional runner-up result.
As well, Owers spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Christian Brothers University, a DII institution in Memphis. During her tenure, she helped the Lady Bucs to a 32-33-5 record, including appearances in the Gulf South Conference Quarterfinals in three of her four seasons.
