MAGNOLIA, Texas – The Aggies season will commence this week as they chase after their first-ever Conference USA Championship. On Monday, NM State will tee off against the other six CUSA institutions at High Meadow Ranch Club as they open the 54-hole tournament.
 
The three-day event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. MT with Florida International, Middle Tennessee and UTEP kicking things off. NM State will begin its day at 7:15 a.m. and will play alongside Jax State on the opening day of the tournament. Sam Houston and Western Kentucky will then follow the Aggies and Gamecocks as they send out the final groupings of the day.
 
The first Aggie off the tee will be 
Alison Gastelum (7:15 a.m.). She will then be trailed by 
Angela Garvin (7:24 a.m.), 
Kaylee Chen (7:33 a.m.), Isabel Laulhe (7:42 a.m.) and finally 
Emma Bunch (7:51 a.m.). Most recently, the Aggies competed at the Cowgirl Classic which Wyoming hosted at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes in Maricopa, Ariz. At the final tournament ahead of the CUSA Championship, the Aggies finished in a tied for third as a team after combining to shoot 13 over par at the tournament.
 
Meanwhile, 
Emma Bunch continued her blistering stretch as she posted scores of 70-66-71-207 to finish three shots clear of the 118-player field and collect her fourth-straight individual title. With the win, Bunch moved up to 46
th in the Clippd national collegiate rankings and has now recorded 19 straight rounds of par or better.
 
THE FIELD
NM State will enter the week as one of the favorites to be in contention for the team title this week as they are currently the third-highest ranked program with a national ranking of No. 77. Western Kentucky enters the week with the field's lowest ranking at No. 64 while Sam Houston is second among CUSA teams at No. 71. Jax State (No. 132), UTEP (No. 150), MTSU (No. 154) and FIU (No. 157) make up the rest of the field.
 
THE COURSE
High Meadow Ranch is currently the No. 2 rated public golf course in Houston according to The Houston Chronicle and Houston Sports News. The course was designed by David Ogrin and Tim Nugent.
