PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – The NM State fall season is officially underway. The Aggies opened play in South Carolina at the Golfweek Fall Challenge alongside 17 other programs at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club on Sunday morning.

The 2023 Conference USA Player of the Year Emma Bunch picked up right where she left off as she finished the day atop the leaderboard. Through 18 holes, Bunch shot 5-under (66) to end the day with a two-stroke advantage over the 92-player field. On the day, Bunch registered six birdies including a stretch from holes six through 10 in which she birdied four out of five holes.

Bunch's low round helped the Aggies conclude the day tied for second on the team leaderboard as the team combined to shot 1-over-par to trail only reigning champion UNC Wilmington (-2).
