LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Conference USA released their weekly awards this morning and have announced that the Aggies have earned player of the week once again this season. Following a stellar weekend, Molly Kaiser earned her fourth CUSA Player of the Week honor during her career in Las Cruces and third time this season.
Kaiser scored 32 points this week against I-10 rival UTEP as the Aggies hosted the Minerd on Saturday. The Watauga, Texas, native displayed a strong showing from the perimeter, flushing two of her three attempts in the first half of the game. Molly finished 11-of-19 from the floor to push her squad to a 16-point victory. Currently, she sits at No. 10 in the nation and first in the conference in points per game - averaging 21.1 points.
She also connected on eight of her ten attempts at the charity stripe in her monstrous scoring display. This gives her 94 made free throws this season with only 115 attempts, putting her 10th in the nation in made free throws.
The Aggie will help guide her team this week as they remain at home in the Pan American Center on Thursday as it seeks its third CUSA win of the season when they take on FIU. The matchup will be played at 6 p.m. MST.
