LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After opening its 2025 season at the Texas Tech-hosted Corky Classic, NM State returns for its first meet in the Land of Enchantment, heading north for the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico. The Starting Line
- NM State is back in action this weekend for the 2025 edition of the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The two-day meet is slated to begin with the weight throw at 4 p.m. MT on Friday afternoon, with the second day of action starting at approximately 10:30 a.m. MT.
- The Aggies will compete alongside programs such as Arizona, California, Stanford, Texas and host New Mexico among others.
- As a team, the Crimson & White will compete in six events: 600m, 800m, Mile, high jump, shot put and weight throw.

Dual Sport Star
- Sophomore Marlee Cavitt is set to continue her track & field career with NM State after transferring from the University of Portland last summer. In one of the most unique situations in the nation, Cavitt is also a member of the NM State Soccer team, becoming a pivotal member of the backline defense in her debut season. Playing and starting all 20 contests, the Sacramento, Calif., native finished third on the team in minutes played (1,575).
- Cavitt is set to compete in short sprint events for the Aggies, recently taking place in the 60m dash and 200m dash at the Corky Classic in Lubbock.

- Bounding off the line for the 60m hurdles, Logan raced down the track and finished in third place with a time of 8.24 – besting her own record of 8.27 set at the 2023 Corky Classic.
- Joining Logan in setting program records, senior and New Mexico native Rebecca Green posted a personal best of 15.76m (51-8.50") to break a mark that had been held since 2006, when Erin Streater recorded a toss of 15.54m (51-0").
- Racing in the 4x400s most competitive heat, the foursome of Terice Steen, Mickaliliah Vassell, Jhana Downie and Jahnya Hill broke away from the competition and secured a first-place finish with a time of 3:38.80 – the third fastest mark in program history.
