LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State women's golf team is set to welcome 18 programs this week as it hosts the Golf Iconic Classic at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
 
The 54-hole, three-day event will see teams play 18 holes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday's opening round will start at 8:30 a.m. MT with the Aggies playing alongside competitors from Northern Arizona, San Diego State and Jax State to start things off.
 
AGGIE LINEUP
This week, the Aggies will be represented by eight of the nine student-athletes on the roster with the only Aggie not competing being Emma Bunch who will be preparing to compete in the LPGA Q-Series later this week. With Bunch out, the Aggies' team will be made up of Rylee Salome, Sophia Luna, Alexandria Armendariz, Emma Thompson, Isabel Laulhé, Marley Moncada, Camille Pazouki and Frederika Rychtarikova.
 
THE FIELD
This week, the Aggies' 18 counterparts will be Boise State, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Jacksonville State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UT Arlington and UTEP. In total, there will be 104 participants competing in the City of Crosses this week.
 
THE COURSE
The NMSU Golf Course is a championship 18-hole course that is open to the public year-round. It offers views of the Organ and "A" Mountains along with a top-notch practice facility, with a large driving range, contoured putting greens and a short-game practice area.
