LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State women's golf team opened play at the Golf Iconic Classic on Monday, finishing the first round in 10th place with a team score of 288 (E) on their home course at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
Senior
Alexandria Armendariz led the Aggies with a stellar round of 69 (-3), placing her in a tie for sixth individually. Close behind was Isabel Laulhé, who carded a 71 (-1) to finish the day tied for 24th.
Rylee Salome and
Sophia Luna each posted rounds of 74 (+2), tying for 53rd, while
Emma Thompson rounded out the Aggie lineup with a 75 (+3), placing her in a tie for 68th.
Competing individually,
Camille Pazouki also represented NM State with a 74 (+2), tying with Salome and Luna. Meanwhile,
Marley Moncada and
Frederika Rychtarikova each shot 75 (+3).
Boise State leads the team standings after posting a 276 (-12) on the first day of play, with Nina Lukyanenko (Northern Arizona), Teal Matsueda (Boise State) and Katelyn Kong (UC Irvine) tied atop the individual leaderboard at 67 (-5).

Tomorrow, the Aggies will once again tee off at 8:30 a.m. MT at their home course and will compete alongside student-athletes from Northern Colorado, UTEP and UC Riverside. The NM State team will go off of holes 8 through 11, with the Aggie individuals going off of hole 18.
