LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following an opening weekend at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, NM State returns to the track for split-meet action at the Texas Relays and the Greyhound Invite. The Aggies will compete at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on Friday, March 27, while they will compete in Portales, N.M., at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium on Saturday, March 28. Class of CUSA
- At last weekend's Willie Williams Classic, a pair of Aggies recorded marks that lead Conference USA. True freshman Jaylah McDonnell posted a distance of 5.75 meters in the long jump, while Kamryn Cadle tallied a result of 14.22m in the shot put.
- Alongside McDonnell and Cadle, Rachel O'Brien (800m, 1500m), Nia Allison (5000m), Jordan Torres (3000m Steeplechase), Cameron Hodges (Long Jump) and the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams reside within the top three of CUSA.
The Starting Line
- The Aggies compete in split competition for the first time this season, taking their talents to Austin, Texas, and Portales, N.M.
- In Austin, NM State will compete alongside some of the top programs in the nation, including Arkansas, Clemson, Houston, Oklahoma, Ohio State and host Texas, among others. In Portales, the Aggies will compete alongside schools such as West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Panhandle and host Eastern New Mexico.
- As a team, the Crimson & White will compete in nine events across the two meets: 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin.

Dual Sport Star
- Sophomore Marlee Cavitt is set to continue her track & field career with NM State after transferring from the University of Portland last summer. In one of the most unique situations in the nation, Cavitt is also a member of the NM State Soccer team, becoming a pivotal member of the backline defense, finishing third on the team in minutes played (1,575) in a debut season that saw the Aggies tally 10+ wins for the third consecutive season.
- Cavitt competes in short sprint events for the Aggies, posting indoor bests of 7.59 in the 60m dash and 24.39 in the 200m dash.
One Year Ago… | Stanford Invitational/Texas Relays/Mike Fanelli Track Classic | 3.22-23.24
- Opening the day at the Texas Relays, the quartet of Sierra Brewer, Jhana Downie, Grace Pendarvis and Mickaliliah Vassell posted a time of 45.81, finishing third in their heat behind future Big Ten member UCLA and future SEC member Oklahoma.
- Jahnya Hill posted a time of 53.69 at the Stanford Invitational, recording a new personal best in the event while finishing second in her heat behind Nevada's Kylee Parsons.
- After recording a personal best in the hammer throw at the Willie Williams Classic on Mar. 22, Camila Garcia Carrera bested herself in the event at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic – taking first in her heat and fifth overall with a new personal record of 46.19m (151-6").
