Zawdie Jackson Named to CUSA MBB All-Academic Team

| By:

This is the first time an Aggie has received the award since joining CUSA.

DALLAS – NM State's Zawdie Jackson has been named to the 2024-25 Conference USA Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

Jackson is one of just five student-athletes across the conference to earn the prestigious honor, joining representatives from Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, and UTEP.

In his first season with the Aggies, Jackson has been a key contributor, standing as the only player to start and play in all 25 games for NM State this year. He currently averages 10.6 points per game while leading the team with 3.5 assists per contest. His most impressive performance of the season came against Utah Tech, where he erupted for a season-high 24 points on an efficient 9-11 shooting, including a flawless 3-3 from beyond the arc. He also stuffed the stat sheet with seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals in the victory.

Excelling just as much in the classroom, Jackson has maintained a 3.6+ GPA since arriving in Las Cruces. With aspirations of a career in public health, he continues to balance his academic and athletic commitments at an elite level.
