LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State is set for its third tournament of the spring season as they prepare for the Riverbend Intercollegiate in Sugar Land, Texas. The Aggies will be one of 16 teams competing at Riverbend Country Club in the 54-hole event.
Play is scheduled to open at 7:30 a.m. MDT with the teams set to play 36 holes on Monday followed by a final round on Tuesday that will also begin at 7:30 a.m.
AGGIE LINEUP
NM State will be represented by
Emma Bunch,
Camille Pazouki,
Angela Garvin,
Alexandria Armendariz and
Kaylee Chen. Of this group, Bunch, Chen and Garvin have played in each of the Aggies' five competitions thus far.
In the Aggies' last event, Bunch, Pazouki, Garvin and Armendariz competed at the Bruin Wave Invitational in Valencia, Calif. The group was paced by
Emma Bunch who finished tied for 14
th which marked her fifth top-15 finish of the year and 16
th consecutive top-25 placement dating back to her freshman campaign.
Camille Pazouki finished her week in Valencia with her best 18-hole score of the weekend when she carded a 74 to finish 44
th.
Kaylee Chen will be back in the lineup after last competing for the Aggies at the Allie & John Wallace Classic in Palm Desert, Calif.
THE FIELD
NM State will join a competitive field which includes host Houston Christian along with Abilene Christian, East Texas A&M, Houston, Lamar, Long Island, McLennan CC, Missouri State, Prairie View A&M, Odessa College, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UT Arlington and URTGV.
THE COURSE
Riverbend Country Club first opened in 1957 and features a beautiful golf course designed by Press Maxwell Jr. The 18-hole championship course is considered to be one of Houston's most aesthetically pleasing and challenging courses.
