LAS CRUCES, N.M. – With less than three weeks until the regular-season opener, NM State Volleyball made one final addition to its 2025 squad. The Aggies signed Ezgi Duzgezen for the fall, increasing the roster to 20 strong. The Navarro JC transfer played for the Bulldogs in 2024 after a prior season with Florida Southwestern State.
 
Duzgezen hails from Ankara, Turkey, where she competed with Beytepe High School, leading the club to a regional title in 2022. After a season with FSW, she transferred to Navarro JC, posting an efficient sophomore campaign.
 
In her lone season with Navarro JC, she picked up two NJCAA Region XIV postseason honors. The middle blocker was not only named to the All-Region First Team, but also snagged the Newcomer of the Year award. With 67 kills tallied in just 61 sets played, she landed a team-high .396 hitting percentage. 
 
Defensively, she tallied 52.0 denials over the year, including 12 solo blocks. Her 0.85 blocks per set ranked second on the team, highlighted by five outings with at least five total blocks. Elsewhere, Duzgezen racked up 29 digs and 12 service aces in 2024, with all 12 coming in a seven-match span across September and October.
 
On Oct. 31, she landed six kills on nine swings (.667) versus Panola College to go along with five total blocks that included three solo stuffs. With five kills and seven total blocks against Dodge City CC on Sept. 6, the Turkey native set a career high in rejections. 
 
Ezgi Duzgezen joins a middle blocker rotation alongside Mia Fox - the Aggies' lone returner. Earlier in the offseason, Head Coach Mike Jordan announced the additions of Katie Funk and Kate Sinclair, bringing the position total to four.
