Play Rolls On at Golfweek Red Sky Classic

VAIL, Colo. – The NM State women's golf team continued play at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Tuesday, competing in the second round at the Fazio Course in Vail, Colo. After 36 holes, the Aggies stand in 16th place among a strong field of 20 teams.
 
The Aggies posted a team score of 310 (+22) in round two, bringing their two-day total to 610 (+34). On the second day of action, NM State added 10 birdies to their tally, led by three from sophomore Sophia Luna.
 
Luna carded a 77 (+5) in round two and sits in a tie for 46th overall. Alexandria Armendariz followed with a 76 (+4) and is in a tie for 49th, while Emma Thompson posted a 79 (+7) to enter the final round in a tie for 65th. Rylee Salome matched her opening round with another 78 (+6) and now sits in a tie for 78th, and Marley Moncada rounded out the lineup with an 85 (+13) and concluded the day in a tie for 94th.
 
The Aggies will return to the course Wednesday morning for the final round as they will tee off at 9:15 a.m. MT alongside players from Sacramento State, Boise State and UNC Asheville.
