NM State continued its strong start to the spring with a dominant 7-0 exhibition victory over Western New Mexico this afternoon at the NM State Tennis Center. 

The match served as the Aggies' final exhibition tune-up as NM State gained additional match experience ahead of its official spring season opener later this month. 

NM State jumped out to an early advantage in doubles play, earning wins on the top two courts. Anna Pinaieva and Whitney Moon picked up a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 position, while Montana Parkinson-Lubold and Dora Kurdi followed with a matching 6-2 win on court two. The No. 3 doubles match went unfinished. 

The Aggies carried their momentum into singles competition, claiming five victories across the lineup. Whitney Moon was in control at the top spot, posting a straight-set win at No. 1 singles. Montana Parkinson-Lubold delivered a dominant performance at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 result, while Emma Petton and Mariella Gelbke added identical 6-0, 6-0 victories at the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. 

At No. 2 singles, Nadia Nemeth battled through a tightly contested match, edging her opponent in a third-set super tiebreak to secure the Aggies' final point of the afternoon. The No. 6 singles match was not completed.

New Mexico State will now turn its attention to the start of the regular season, as the Aggies open the 2026 spring slate on Jan. 24, traveling to Eugene, Ore., to take on Oregon in their first official match of the year.
