Aggies Split First Two Matches at UNLV Quad

NM State earns first win of the season, looks to close weekend strong in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – NM State continued play at the UNLV Quad this weekend at the Fertitta Tennis Complex, opening the event with its first win of the 2026 spring season against Weber State on Friday before facing host UNLV on Saturday. The Aggies leave the first two days of the quad with valuable momentum as they prepare for their final match of the weekend.

MATCH ONE | NM State 5, Weber State 2
The Aggies opened the UNLV Quad on Friday with a strong all-around performance against Weber State, earning their first victory of the season with a 5-2 decision. NM State set the tone early by securing the doubles point, highlighted by convincing wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The pairings of Holland Snell and Lance Urlaub, along with Laurendi Fischer and Matias Rojas, each delivered 6-2 victories to give the Aggies the early advantage.

NM State carried that momentum into singles play, claiming four of six matches to seal the win. Lance Urlaub, Tobias Wallin, Matias Rojas and Laurendi Fischer each earned straight-set victories, showcasing depth throughout the lineup. Despite a tightly contested three-set battle at the top spot, the Aggies' dominance in the middle and lower courts proved decisive in securing the team result.

MATCH TWO | NM State 0, UNLV 4
On Saturday, the Aggies returned to the courts to take on host UNLV. NM State battled through doubles play but ultimately dropped the opening point as the Rebels claimed wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions .

In singles action, NM State continued to compete despite facing a tough UNLV lineup. Several matches remained unfinished as UNLV clinched the dual early, including competitive efforts from Lance Urlaub, Tobias Wallinand Laurendi Fischer. Roko Stipetic and Holland Snell each fought through physical matches at the top of the lineup before the Rebels secured the necessary points to close out the match.
