LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Men's Basketball Head Coach
Jason Hooten has announced the hiring of Todd Forcier as the program's next Director of Men's Basketball Performance.
Forcier arrives in Las Cruces with more than 25 years of experience in basketball performance, strength and conditioning and athlete development at both the NBA and Division I levels. Most recently, he served as Director of Basketball Performance at the University of Memphis, where he directed all aspects of performance for the men's basketball program, integrating strength training, nutrition, recovery and sport science.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Todd Forcier and his family to our Aggie Family," said Coach Hooten. "Todd's resume speaks for itself, and I know our players and program will benefit tremendously from his experience, knowledge, and leadership as our strength coach.
"A special thank you to
Joe Fields and
Josh Hadley for their hard work and tireless efforts in helping bring Coach Forcier to Las Cruces. We're excited to have Todd and his family on board and look forward to the impact he will make on our program!"
"I'm honored and excited to join the New Mexico State basketball program," stated Forcier. "I want to thank Coach Hooten and the administration that had a hand in bringing me to Las Cruces. I'm excited to get to work! Go Aggies!"
Before his stint at Memphis, Forcier spent more than a decade with the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, including serving as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach from 2022-23. During his time in Portland, he played a key role in player development, injury prevention and return-to-play strategies while working closely with sports medicine and performance analytics staffs.
Forcier also held strength and conditioning positions at Kentucky, Syracuse, Dayton, UNLV and the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics. While at Syracuse, he was part of the staff that helped the Orange capture the 2003 NCAA National Championship.
In his role with the Aggies, Forcier will oversee all aspects of strength and conditioning, performance training and athlete development for NM State Men's Basketball. Forcier is a graduate of Washington State University.
