SAN MARCOS, Texas – The NM State women's tennis team turned in several strong performances at the River State Shoot-Out over the weekend, picking up 10 singles victories and four doubles wins against competition from Texas State, Troy, UTSA and Northwestern State.
 
In singles action, the Aggies were led by Emma Petton, Meghna Anand, Nadia Nemeth and Mariella Gelbke, who each recorded multiple victories. Petton earned a pair of comeback wins, rallying past Troy's Emilia Namyslo and Texas State's Juliette Jalai in match tiebreaks. Anand secured straight-set victories over Texas State's Olivia Collins and UTSA's Gabriela Silva, while Nemeth posted wins over Troy's Sama Hindawy and Northwestern State Zala Vnuk. Gelbke also tallied two victories, defeating Texas State's Juliette Jalai and Northwestern State's Nico Tagami.
 
NM State also received singles wins from Whitney Moon and Anna Klimova. Moon battled back for a three-set victory over Texas State's Tadiwanashe Mauchi, while Klimova rolled past UTSA's Giuliana Giardina in straight sets.
 
In doubles play, the Aggies were paced by the tandem of Nadia Nemeth and Adi Bitton, who went undefeated with a 3-0 record. The duo opened the tournament with a win over Texas State's Kinley VanPelt and Avery Arant before adding a tiebreak victory over Troy's Alexia Zarate and Kenzy Sherif Elhamrawy. Nemeth and Bitton closed the weekend with a 6-4 win over Texas State's Tadiwanashe Mauchi and Olivia Collins.
 
The Aggies also picked up a doubles victory from Anna Klimova and Emma Petton, who defeated Troy's Hiba Heni and Leena Metwally, 7-5.
