Aggies Dominate Panthers to Complete Weekend Sweep

Four Aggies tally multiple RBIs in the win.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State completed a dominant weekend with a 16–1 run‑rule victory over Prairie View A&M on Sunday at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium, sweeping the series. The Aggies scored in each of the first four innings and piled up 14 hits in the seven‑inning win.

NM State jumped ahead early as Boston Vest singled and scored on a Steve Solorzano RBI double in the first. The Aggies blew the game open with a four‑run second, highlighted by a Taclas RBI, a two‑RBI single from Solorzano and a Bryce Campbell sacrifice fly. A six‑run fourth, powered by a two‑RBI double from Chris Daniels and a bases-clearing double from Brandon Clizbe, stretched the lead to 13–1.

NM State added three more in the sixth on RBI hits from Clizbe, Tommy Meluskey and Aidan Lombardi, pushing the score to 16-1. On the mound, Jack Turner earned the win with 3.2 shutout innings and six strikeouts, while Bradyn Barnes allowed just one run over the first three frames.

The victory sealed a dominant sweep for the Aggies, who outscored Prairie View A&M 35–9 over the weekend.
