SUGAR LAND, Texas – The NM State women's golf team wrapped up its second tournament of the spring season with a sixth-place finish at the Riverbend Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston Christian at Riverbend Country Club. The Aggies posted rounds of 293 (+5), 297 (+9) and 303 (+15) for a 54‑hole total of 893 (+29).
The team title went to Louisville (+9), while Tarleton's Louise Depadt earned medalist honors at 211 (-5). With the sixth‑place team finish, NM State closed the week ahead of UT Arlington and UTRGV.
NM State was led by
Emma Bunch, who fired rounds of 71–74–71 to finish tied for fourth at 216 (E).
Rylee Salome added a top‑20 result with a 70–75–78 showing to land at 223 (+7), while
Alexandria Armendariz recorded consistent rounds of 76–75–75 to finish at 226 (+10).
Sophia Luna posted 77–73–79 for a 229 (+13) total, and
Marley Moncada completed NM State's scoring with 76–78–79 for 233 (+17).
NUMBERS OF NOTE
- NM State ranked second among the field in Par 3 scoring, as they shot a combined nine-over for the week.
- The Aggies logged 118 total pars to rank second in the field behind team champion Louisville. This was led by Sophia Luna who recorded 39 pars to rank tied for third among the field.
- The Aggies were also tied for third in birdies with 24. Emma Bunch paced the Aggies in birdies with nine, leaving her in a tie for fourth among the field.
- Alexandria Armendariz recorded one of just three eagles in the field.
