Aggies Fall to Middle Tennessee on the Road

NM State 1, Middle Tennessee 4

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — NM State dropped a 4-1 decision to Middle Tennessee on this afternoon at the Adams Tennis Complex. The Aggies battled throughout the match, highlighted by a singles victory and multiple tightly contested matches that went unfinished.

Middle Tennessee claimed the early momentum by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Dora Kurdi and Whitney Moon faced a tough challenge at the No. 3 position, while the pairing of Montana Parkinson-Lubold and Anna Klimova were locked in a 4-3 battle before the point was clinched and their match went unfinished.

The Aggies' lone point came in singles play at the No. 6 position, where Mariella Gelbke delivered a strong performance with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 straight-set victory.

Montana Parkinson-Lubold also showed resilience at the No. 2 spot, opening her match in dominant fashion with a 6-0 first-set win before Middle Tennessee's Zora Koenig responded to take the next two sets. Whitney Moon battled at the top position, capturing the first set 6-3 before falling in a three-set contest.

Other Aggies continued to fight in extended matches. Anna Klimova rebounded after dropping her first set to take the second and was leading in the third before her match was halted unfinished. Nadia Nemeth also pushed her opponent to three sets, forcing a deciding frame after taking the second set 7-5, with the match left unfinished.
