'AIEA, O'ahu – The NM State women's golf team wrapped up its third tournament of the spring at the 2026 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, finishing seventh in a 13‑team field that featured three programs ranked inside the top 25. The Aggies posted rounds of 298, 292 and 295 to close the week at 885 (+33) across the three-round event.
The tournament title was claimed convincingly by No. 2 Southern California, which finished at 824 (-28), winning by 23 strokes over co-runners-up No. 12 North Carolina and No. 23 Arizona State, who tied for second at 847 (-5). Individually, USC's Jasmine Koo ran away from the field, finishing at 202 (-11) after firing rounds of 67, 68 and 67 to win by six shots.
The Aggies were led by senior
Emma Bunch, who delivered yet another strong performance, carding rounds of 71, 71 and 69 to finish at 211 (-2), earning a tie for sixth place. She was the only Aggie to finish under par and one of just 11 players in the 78‑golfer field to break par for the week.
Freshman
Rylee Salome followed with a tie for 16th after posting steady rounds of 71, 71 and 73 to close at 215 (+2). Meanwhile,
Sophia Luna finished 55th at 229 (+16), Isa Laulhé placed 64th at 235 (+22), and
Alexandria Armendariz rounded out the Aggie lineup in 67th at 238 (+25).
NUMBERS OF NOTE
- Emma Bunch's top-10 finish marks her fourth top-10 finish in just four spring events. This also serves as the 22nd top-10 finish of her illustrious career.
- Rylee Salome's performance represents her third top-25 finish of her freshman campaign.
- NM State finished the week tied for fourth in par-3 scoring (3.19). This was fueled by Bunch and Salome who ranked tied for third in the field in par-3 scoring (3.00)
- With 11 birdies, Bunch ranked tied for seventh-most in the field. She also totaled just seven bogeys, which marked the fifth fewest in the field.
