DALLAS - After wrapping up regular season play, New Mexico State senior guard Jemel Jones has earned All-CUSA Second Team honors, as announced by Conference USA this afternoon.
The 6-4 senior guard from Chicago, Ill., has emerged as the Aggies' primary offensive leader throughout the season, appearing in all 30 regular season games with 28 starts. Jones leads NM State in scoring at 17.8 points per game, which is tied for third in Conference USA, while shooting 44% from the field, 38% from beyond the arc (team-high) and 83% from the free throw line, which ranks sixth in the conference.
Jones has also made an impact across the stat sheet, averaging 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, both of which rank second on the team, while leading the Aggies with 1.3 steals per contest, tied for seventh in Conference USA. His consistency has been a defining trait this season as he has scored in double figures in all but two games and has led NM State in scoring in 15 contests.
One of Jones' most impressive outings came against Middle Tennessee when he poured in a season-high 34 points, showcasing the scoring ability that has made him one of the league's most dangerous guards. He has also been one of Conference USA's most reliable shooters at the free throw line, converting 126-151 attempts throughout the season.
Jones' all-around production and scoring consistency have solidified his place among the top guards in Conference USA, earning him All-CUSA Second Team recognition for the 2025-26 season.
