NM State Signs Versatile Guard Gabe Warren

Warren averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while starting all 33 contests for Holy Cross last season.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - NM State starts to shape its 2026-27 roster with the addition of guard Gabe Warren, who will join the Aggies for his senior season.

Warren will arrive in Las Cruces following two seasons at Holy Cross, where he developed into a key contributor for the Crusaders. During the 2025-26 season, he started all 33 games and averaged 31 minutes per contest. He finished second on the team in both scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (4.5 rpg), while adding 1.5 assists per game. Warren shot an efficient 47% from the field and 34% from three-point range, while also leading the team in steals with 38 and total rebounds with 150. 

He delivered multiple standout performances throughout the season, including a career-high 30-point outing against Loyola Maryland where he also grabbed seven rebounds. Warren also showcased his perimeter shooting ability in a 25-point performance against Fordham, knocking down a career-best six three-pointers on 6-7 shooting from beyond the arc while adding eight rebounds. 

As a sophomore in 2024-25, Warren appeared in 18 games with 10 starts, averaging 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game. He shot 41.1% from the field and 31.0% from three-point range. His season was highlighted by a 23-point performance on 9-of-13 shooting in the season opener at Wisconsin. He also recorded 18 points, three rebounds, and three assists at Colgate and earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. 

Warren began his collegiate career at Rice during the 2023-24 season, where he saw action in 21 games for the Owls, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest. 

Prior to his collegiate career, Warren played his senior season at Dream City Christian High School in Glendale, Arizona, earning recognition as a McDonald's All-America nominee. He previously attended John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas, where he helped lead his team to a 31-7 record and a TAPPS 6A state championship during the 2021-22 season. As a junior, he averaged 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while earning First Team All-State honors.
