DALLAS – NM State senior guard Anthony Wrzeszcz has been named a recipient of the Conference USA Winter Spirit of Service Award, the league announced this morning.
The award honors 12 student-athletes across the conference who exemplify outstanding commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic performance.
Wrzeszcz, a 6-4 guard from Gdynia, Poland, was a key contributor for the Aggies throughout the 2025-26 season. Appearing in all 32 games with 26 starts. He is averaged 7.4 points per game while shooting 36% from the field and 33% from three-point range – the second-highest mark on the team – while converting at an efficient 85% from the free throw line. He has also added 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest.
The senior finished the season with a team-high 55 made three-pointers and delivered a standout performance against Delaware, scoring a career-high 20 points while knocking down six three-pointers – tied for the most by an Aggie in a single game this season.
Beyond his contributions on the court, Wrzeszcz has made a meaningful impact in the Las Cruces community. During his time at NM State, he has volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club, El Caldito Soup Kitchen, Carlsbad/Hobbs Basketball Camps, Sixth Man Tailgate, Thanksgiving Meal Distribution and the Special Olympics Unified Champions Schools Basketball Game at Mayfield High School.
In the classroom, Wrzeszcz has also excelled, earning a spot on the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll this year.
"I'm thankful to receive the Spirit of Service Award and for the conference's support," Wrzeszcz said. "I'll continue doing my best to make a positive impact in my community beyond basketball."
Wrzeszcz's recognition highlights his well-rounded impact as a student-athlete and his dedication to making a difference both on and off the court.
