Ashley Herman Named CUSA Offensive Player of the Week

The fifth-year Aggie tallied 39 kills on a blistering .549 hitting percentage across the three games

DALLAS – Following a weekend sweep at the Bulldog Invitational in Fresno, Ashley Herman was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday in Dallas.

The Bakersfield, Calif., made the most of her return to The Golden State, recording a new career high of 14 kills – among the 39 total she recorded over three matches against UC Irvine, Fresno State and Southern Utah.

Herman began the weekend with 12 kills against UC Irvine, the first time she recorded double-digit kills this season, and the first overall since Oct. 19, 2024, after missing the 2025 campaign due to injury. Hitting .550 against the Anteaters, she also added three digs and a block assist as the Aggies rallied back to defeat UC Irvine in five sets and earn NM State Head Coach Mike Jordan his 600th career victory.

On Friday, she led the Aggies to a four-set win over tournament host Fresno State with a career-best 14 kills on a .571 hitting percentage. In the match, Herman added a pair of solo blocks, tying her season-best.

The final match of the weekend saw her post 13 kills, adding a pair of block assist against Southern Utah in the four-set win.

With Herman's honor, this becomes the first weekly award for the Aggies since Maggie Lightheart earned CUSA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27, 2025.
