New Mexico State University Athletics

High School: Lopez joins NM State after playing her senior season at Chapin High School in El Paso, Texas. While at CHS, she averaged 10.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.9 steals. Lopez also helped guide the Huskies to a 23-7 mark in 2015, including a second-place finish in conference play. Before CHS, Lopez was at El Dorado High School her first three seasons. During her time with the Aztecs, she averaged 5.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists. Lopez directed EDHS to back-to-back 20-win season. As a sophomore she guided EDHS to its first playoff appearance in school history and followed by a runner-up finish in district play as a junior.
 
Personal: Lopez is the daughter of Anthony and Pamela Lopez. She will be majoring in Kinesiology. Lopez credits her dad as the biggest influence in her athletic career, because he always pushed her in the right direction. She plans to be a physical therapist after she is done at NM State.
