Biography

2015-16: Saw action in 32-of-34 contests as a sophomore…helped guide NM State to back-to-back Western Athletic Conference regular-season titles…started the first seven games of the season and finished with eight starts on the year…recorded double-digit points in three of the first seven games of the season…recorded  15 points in an overtime win over Robert Morris (11/24) at home…dished out a four assists against UTRGV (1/30) at home to go with eight points…notched a career-high 22 points at home against Seattle U (2/20) on 5-of-9 shooting, including a 3-for-7 night beyond the arc and was 9-of-9 from the line…notched back-to-back 11-point games in the WAC Tournament against UMKC (3/11) and Bakersfield (3/12)…had six points in NM State’s first-round NIT match-up with Saint Mary’s (3/15).
 
2014-15: Played in 27-of-34 games for NM State as a freshman and averaged 2.8 points and 0.7 rebounds…scored in his first collegiate game against Wichita State (11/14) and finished with six points…reached double-figures for the first time at UTEP (11/22), scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting…followed up two games later with a 13-point night against Florida A&M (11/26)…had 10 points against Northern New Mexico (12/22) in just 15 minutes of action on 4-of-8 shooting.
 
High School: First-team Division 3 All-State at Mira Monte High in Bakersfield, Calif.…the Bakersfield Californian Player of the Year…was the California Interscholastic Federation Central Section scoring leader, averaging 32.3 points (third in California), 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals as a senior…shot 44-percent from the floor and 34-percent from the 3-point arc as well…was MMHS’s first NCAA Division I player.
 
Personal: Son of Louis and Kathryn Huggins…has six older brothers, Bryan Brandon, Brett, Brad, Brock and Bruce and three older sisters, Kathryn, Brook and Katrina…majoring in criminal justice.
