Fall 2006: Harvey was unable to participate in the fall series due to an injury.
Junior: Harvey played in 53 games and started in each of those games. His .333 batting average was good to place him second on the team in that category. He scored 33 runs and hit 54 RBI, which was also second best for the Aggies in 2006. Harvey walked 24 times and stole two bases on two attempts. Defensively he had a .985 fielding percentage. In the second game of the season against Utah (2/4) Harvey went 2-of-5 with a double to help the Aggies to 12-5 win and picked up his first home run blast of the season against Washington (2/10). His second home run of the season came against Gonzaga (2/17) on a day when he went 2-of-4 and helped the Aggies to a 5-3 win. In that game Harvey broke the scoring drought in the bottom of the fourth when he knocked a 1-1 pitch over the left field wall to give NMSU a 1-0 lead. Harvey then went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer against Northern Iowa (3/5), and at New Mexico (3/7) he went 3-of-4, walked once and scored two runs. He had a good game in game one of a double-header against Nevada (3/26) as he went 2-of-4 with two RBI in a 4-5 loss. He was a monster at the plate for NMSU against North Florida as he finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three RBI as the Aggies won 13-4. Harvey missed game one at Hawai’i (4/20) after being hit in the hand by pitch, and had a solid day at the plate finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI at the designated hitter position. Against Louisiana Tech (4/29) Harvey went 3-of-4 with a double and one RBI, and acquiring another two RBI on the very next day. He must have had it in for Louisiana Tech because he hit five more RBI during a two-day (5/13-14) span in Ruston. In Harvey’s final game of the season against Nevada (5/19), he blasted two homers and drove in three runs. Harvey’s first homer of the night came in the fifth putting two runs on the board to trim the Wolf Pack lead to 9-6, but a four run seventh inning from Nevada took the wind out of the NMSU sails for good as they scored seven runs in the final three innings to take the game two win.
Sophomore: In his first season as an Aggie, Adam had quite an impact on the NMSU offense as he saw action in 51 games while starting on 43 different occasions. He finished the year fourth on the team in slugging percentage (.596), fifth in on-base percentage (.442), fourth in RBI (49), second in triples (2) and third in home runs (11). With a season batting average of .329, Adam also scored 46 runs and smacked six two-baggers while drawing 31 walks. In two different games he scored a season-high four runs while going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI against national powerhouse Arizona State (2/7). In that same game, he also blasted an NMSU career-high two homers and hit a smoking .455. In the next two games, Adam worked the New Mexico Lobo pitching staff for three hits in seven at-bats while plating one run and scoring another, hitting over .400 in each game. In an amazing 10-game hitting streak from Apr. 22 to May 10, Harvey hit .514 while blasting four home runs in 19 hits. He also knocked in 12 runs and scored 15 total runs as the Aggies went 6-4 in that stretch.
Junior College: Adam came to New Mexico State after one year at Grayson Community College. In his freshman season, Harvey hit .222 with three runs and two RBI in just 18 at-bats.
High School: Harvey graduated from Celina High School in Celina, Texas. Over prep career Adam hit .435 and hit 36 career home runs. He was named all-state as a junior and senior and helped lead the Bobcats to the state championship in 2002, earning tournament Most Valuable Player honors. Along with being a standout on the diamond, Harvey was also a force on the gridiron. In 2001, Adam was named the Class 2A Texas Fottball/Pace Player of the Year as a running back at Celina High School.
Personal: Adam was born in Dallas, Texas and is the son of Andy and Janet Harvey. He is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management.
