Junior: Mott began his Aggie career by becoming
an integral part of NM State's starting pitching rotation in 2012. He appeared in 19 games while making 14
starts for the Aggies. He finished with
a 6-3 record, a 4.80 earned run average (ERA) and 78 strikeouts. Mott's 14 starts, six wins, 4.80 ERA and 78
strikeouts were all good for second-best on the Aggie squad. He also led NM State pitchers with a .276
opponent's batting average. Mott was
most impressive at Presley Askew Field where he went undefeated at 4-0 and had
a 3.96 ERA. His ERA fell even lower when
WAC play began. Mott finished WAC play with

showed his potential during his first start as an Aggie against Wake Forest
(Feb. 18). Mott pitched six strong
innings, allowing no earned runs, only four singles and striking out nine
batters en route to a 3-1 win and his first victory as an Aggie. Perhaps Mott's best game of the season came
against Southeast Missouri State at Presley Askew Field (Mar. 17). That night Mott pitched a season-high eight
innings and had a season-high 10 strikeouts while allowing only six singles and
one earned run. The Aggie victory
improved Mott's record to 3-0. A month
later at Sacramento State (Apr. 14) Mott allowed a season-low three hits in
seven innings of work. With the 6-1 win,
Mott's record went to 5-0. Mott's final
victory of the season came at San Jose State (May 19) where he had five
strikeouts and only allowed one earned run in seven-plus innings of work.
