Biography

Fall 2006: Loiben had one triple off of four hits during the fall season.  He also scored three times, stole a base and had one RBI.  He struck out only three times in 17 at-bats.

 

Junior College: Loiben assisted the Navarro College Bulldogs in Corsicana, Texas to a 38-15 record during his sophomore stint.  That year, the Bulldogs were conference champions as Loiben compiled a .330 batting average and 15 stolen bases.  As a freshman Loiben covered the outfield for the Bulldogs.  During the 2004-05 season, he helped them to a 31-22 record and a third-place finish in the Texas Eastern Athletic Conference. 

 

High School:  Loiben played in the outfield for the West High School Trojans and helped the team to the district championship at the end of the 2001 season.  The Trojans made it to the regional quarterfinals that year.  In 2004, Loiben assisted the Trojans to a second-place finish in the district, in a season that he batted .430 and stole 20 bases.  He was a three-time member of the all-district team during his career at West High School.  Loiben also participated in track & field, cross-country, football and basketball.

 

Personal:  Ari was born in Long Beach, Calif. and is the son of Gary Loiben and Tanly Horn-Loiben.  He is majoring in mathematical science.
