FALL 2005: Lance hit .298 for the Aggies in the fall season while smacking four balls out of the park in 14 hits. He also knocked in 15 RBI and scored 11 runs in 41 at-bats.
2005 (JUNIOR): Brandon saw action in 45 games last season grabbing the starting position in 39 outings. He hit .287 on the year with four round-trippers and 32 RBI. Lance also tallied 39 hits while scoring 26 runs and hitting seven doubles. With a slugging percentage of .441, Brandon had an on-base percentage of .388 and finished tied for second on the team in sacrifice flies (4). In the second game of a double-header with the College of the Southwest (3/5), Lance had a season high three hits and three runs scored while knocking in two RBI with two doubles and a triple. Later in the season against the Kansas Jayhawks, Brandon hammered in a career-high six RBI in only two hits while scoring two runs and sending one ball over the fence. His highest batting average in a game came against Western Kentucky (4/9) as he hit .347 with two RBI and two runs scored in four at-bats.
2005 (JUNIOR): Lance had a good fall offensively and should compete for playing time at the catcher position this spring.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Brandon comes to New Mexico State after two seasons at the University of Oklahoma. In his freshman season with the Sooners, Brandon started five games, including four starts in a row from March 25 to April 5, 2002. As a sophomore, Brandon started 23 games behind the plate and hit .157 with 13 RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lance was a four-year letterman at Edmond Santa Fe High School. Over his prep career, Brandon hit .412 with 14 home runs and 142 RBI while setting 10 career and 16 single-season records. He was selected to the all-city team in his first three years of high school and was named all-state honorable mention as a sophomore and junior. During his senior season, Lance hit .428 with six home runs and 52 RBI while helping the Wolves to the state championship.
PERSONAL: Brandon was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. and is the son of Scott and Kelly Lance. He is majoring in Communications.
