High School: Played four years of varsity baseball at Ramona High School under head coach Dean Welch… Helped the Bulldogs to a 51-6 record in league play over four seasons… Posted a batting average above .300 in every season… Through four years he posted a .344 batting average with 28 doubles, one triple and nine home runs with 78 runs scored and 60 RBI over 91 games.
