Biography

Junior:  Amundson pitched in three games for NM State during the 2009 season putting in 8.2 innings of work. His best game came against Sul Ross State (3/17), where he allowed no runs on two hits after 3.0 innings pitched. That performance helped the Aggies secure a 20-3 victory over the Lobos.  He threw a season-high 4.2 innings against San Francisco and struck out two batters.

Sophomore (2008):  Amundson made seven appearances on the hill for NMSU during his sophomore season.  He was able to strike out four batters while walking only five in 8 2/3 innings.  Amundson pitched a season-high three innings against in-state rival New Mexico (3/18) while striking out one batter and giving up only one earned run.  He sat down a season-high three batters versus Colorado State-Pueblo (4/1) in 2 2/3 innings of work.

Freshman (2007):  Amundson made 16 appearances on the mound for the Aggies as a freshman and made four starts.  He struck out 19 batters and gave up only one home run.  His first start came against Utah (2/11) where he threw for 1 1/3 innings, struck out one batter and gave up one earned run.  He earned his first win in his very next appearance when he hurled the ball for 2 2/3 innings not giving up any earned runs at New Orleans (2/16.  His second win came against Northwestern (3/4) in the Dallas-Baptist Tournament when he had a showing of 3 innings and two strike outs.  Against Utah Valley State (3/10), Amundson made his second start of the year and threw a season high 4 2/3 innings and a season high four strike outs.

High School:  Amundson played baseball for the Hudson's Bay High School Eagles from 2003-06.  He helped the Eagles to a fourth-place finish at the state championships in 2004.  During the 2005 season, he assisted the Eagles to a fourth-place finish in regionals and during the 2006 season, Amundson helped take the Eagles all the way to second-place in regional competition.  Amundson received an honorable mention for pitching and three letters in baseball.  He was a four-year varsity player for Hudson's Bay High School.  Amundson received the Cy Young Best of the West award.

Personal:  Amundson was born in San Diego, California and is the son of Butch and Tami Amundson.  He is majoring in engineering.
