High School:  Bustillos played baseball and football for the Mayfield High School Trojans.  In baseball, Bustillos played shortstop, right field and third base.  In 2006, the Trojans compiled a 17-11 record, finishing fourth in state.  In 2005, the Trojans battled to an 18-10 record and made it to the state playoffs.  The 2004 season saw the Trojans compile a 20-9 record and a district championship.  In 2003, the Trojans had a 16-11 record.  In football, the Trojans went 14-0 and won the state championship during Bustillos’ senior year.  In 2004, the Trojan football team made it all the way to the state playoffs with a 9-2 record, however lost in the first round.  The 2003 Trojan football team went 11-1 and was state runners-up.  Bustillos was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2006 and made first-team all-District at shortstop in 2005 and 2006.   In 2004 Bustillos was named first-team all-District as right fielder.  He was also voted Rookie of the Year for 2004.  He had the highest batting average at .569 in 2006.  Bustillos lettered in baseball from 2003-2006.  In football, Bustillos played quarterback and made first-team all-district and first-team all-state in 2006.  He was named first-team all-district for his play at cornerback in 2004.  He was voted Player of the Game three times during his football career and Most Valuable Player in 2004.  Bustillos also has the record for fewest interceptions thrown in a season with one.

Personal:  David Bustillos is the son of Arnold and Adriana Bustillos, and was born in Dallas, Texas.  He is majoring in business administration.
