Junior: Mott made 18 appearances on the mound,
mostly as a middle reliever, during his rookie campaign at NM State. He pitched a total of 21.1 innings and
finished with a 10.55 earned run average on the season. Mott also finished with 16 strikeouts on the
season. Five of those strikeouts, a
season-high, came in a relief appearance against Wake Forest (Feb. 18), Mott's
first appearance as an Aggie. That same
game he also had a season-high 2.2 innings pitched. Mott's lone victory of the season came in a
relief appearance in Tucson against the team that would eventually win the NCAA
National Championship, the Arizona Wildcats (Mar. 20). That day Mott pitched two strong innings, had
one strikeout, allowed only one hit and didn't allow a run in relief of what
would eventually be a 7-4 Aggie victory.
Junior College: In 2011 Mott pitched for Northeastern
Oklahoma A&M located in Miami, Okla. He had a total of 13 starts and
finished the season with 40 strikeouts.
In 2010 Mott pitched for Palomar Community College located
in California. He finished the season with a 4-1 record, a 2.76 ERA and 25
strikeouts. On April 10, Mott was named the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference
Athlete of the Week for all sports.
High School: Mott pitched for two years at Riverside
Poly High School located in Riverside, Calif. He graduated from Riverside Poly
in 2009. In 2009 Mott amassed a 5-0 record, a 2.77 ERA and had 45 strikeouts
while helping the Bears to a state semifinals appearance.
Personal: Mott is the son of Michael and Joy Mott. He
was born in Apple Valley, Calif., and has a twin brother, Adam, who also
pitches for NM State. Mott enjoys fishing, going to the beach and being with
friends and family during his free time. He is majoring in individualized studies.
