New Mexico State University Athletics

Junior College: Downing participated in baseball at Skyline College in San Bruno, Calif. from 2005-07.  He helped the team to a 27-12 record in 2007.

High School: Downing played baseball, and basketball for the Half Moon Bay High School Cougars from 2001-05.  He helped the Cougars win the league championships in 2004.  In 2005 he assisted the Cougars to a second place finish in the district championship.  In basketball, Downing led the Cougars to a 21-3 finish in 2003, and a league championship in 2003 and 2004.  Downing received the MVP of his basketball league in 2002.  He was named to the First Team All League basketball in 2004, and second all-league basketball team in 2005.  Downing was picked to play in the All State basketball game in 2005.  He also earned both baseball and basketball letters.

Personal:  Downing was born in San Francisco, Calif. and is the son of William and Christine Downing.  He is undecided in a major.
