Biography

2003 (Senior): Jason is hoping to bounce back from off season shoulder surgery and should be one of the best pitchers in the Sun Belt Conference this season.

2002 (Junior): Williams is the Aggies? number one starter last year. His 4.65 earned run average was the best for an Aggie starting pitcher since 1990 when Lawrence Chafin went 8-4 and posted a 4.01 earned run average. After allowing 10 earned runs in his first 4.1 innings as an Aggie, Williams posted a 3.44 earned run average over his final 86.2 innings. He struck out 74 and walked just 22 in 91 innings last year. Jason put together a streak of 16 consecutive scoreless innings which included a victory in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Williams pitched complete game shutouts against Western Kentucky on May 11, curing the regular season, and May 22 in the conference tournament. He went nine innings and allowed only seven hits while striking out four in beating the Hilltoppers, the #3 seed in the tournament, 6-0 in the opening round. It was his fourth consecutive victory and during that streak Williams allowed only six earned runs over 32 innings for a 1.68 earned run average. He struck out 24 and walked only one in those 32 innings. He went 4-1 with a 3.63 earned run average in Sun Belt Conference play. Williams was undefeated at home last year, posting a 5-0 record with a 5.62 earned run average. He struck out 49 and walked only 17 in 56 innings pitched at Presley Askew Field last year. He registered eight strikeouts against South Alabama (May 3), Arkansas State (Apr. 26) and Southern Utah (Feb. 17). He pitched a nine-inning complete game victory at Arkansas State on April 26, allowing just six hits and two earned runs while striking out eight in the Aggies? 5-2 victory. Williams pitched at least seven innings six times last year.

2000-01 (Freshman-Sophomore): Williams was a second team all-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Southern Division pick his sophomore season at Lane Community College. He had a 7-3 record with a 2.31 earned run average, striking out 62 batters in 74 innings while walking just 23.

High School: Williams was a first team All-Intermountain Conference pick as a utility player and second team as a catcher at Hermiston High School. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Jason was born in Baker, Oregon and is the son of Steve and Janet Williams. He is majoring in business.
