Biography

Junior (2008): Joustra pitched 17 innings in 13 games during his first season with the Aggies. Joustra never allowed more than one double, triple or home run in a single game in 2008. While pitching against I-25 rival New Mexico (3/18) he only allowed one hit and no runs, and against Texas Pan American (3/28), Joustra didn’t let through a single hit or run, which helped the Aggies to a 12-2 win.

 

Junior College:  Joustra played as a pitcher for the Western Nevada Community College Wildcats in Carson City, Nevada.  The Wildcats had a 42-23 team record in 2006, under Coach D.J. Whittemore.  That year Joustra helped the team in winning third in the league and take the Regional Championship.

 

High School:  Joustra played football, basketball and baseball for the Woostef High School Colts.  Joustra played football from 2004-05 under Coach Chris Wells.  He also played basketball in 2003, and helped the Colts win third in the Sierra League.  Under Coach Ron Malcom, Joustra helped the Colts baseball team to a third-place finish in the Sierra League four times in the 2002-05 seasons.  In 2002, Joustra helped the Colts win both Zone and State Championships as a pitcher.   He made the All-League second-team in 2003 and first-team all-league in both 2004 and 2005, as a pitcher. 

 

Personal:  Joustra is the son of Gene and Judy Joustra and was born in Reno, Nevada.  He is majoring in journalism.
