Biography

Junior College: Cardinal played shortstop for Monterey Peninsula College during the 2009 season. He received second team all-conference honors and was named MPC's offensive and defensive player of the year. He finished the season above .500 in hitting to help the team to a 21-19 record, overall. Prior to MPC, Cardinal played third base for one season at Iowa Western Community College. Cardinal helped the team to a 54-12 record during and place fifth at the 2008 Junior College World Series.

High School: Cardinal played baseball, football and hockey for Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon, SK Canada. While at Holy Cross, Cardinal played shortstop and helped the Crusaders baseball team to win the provincial championship from 2004-07. He helped the Crusaders to make an appearance at the Canada Cup in 2004 and 2005 as well as an appearance at nationals from 2004-07. He was named defensive Player of the Year for three years. Cardinal helped the Crusaders football and hockey teams to city championships while in high school as well.

Personal: Cardinal is the son of Adair and Laurie Cardinal. He is perusing a degree in sociology.
