Biography

Fall 2006: Godinez got on base with three walks and score each time this fall. He also brought in two runs off of sacrifices.

Junior (2006): Godinez played in 48 games and started in 45 of them. He ended the season with a batting average of .284 with 40 hits. His on-base percentage was .400, while he had 30 RBI. Godinez also came up with six doubles and two home runs during the 2006 season. In the opening game against Utah (2/3) Godinez lifted the Aggies to a win as he smacked a double to left center in the bottom of the eighth that scored two runs to break the 1-1 tie after seven scoreless innings. He would also bring in a run in the next game against Utah (2/4) where the Aggies won 12-5. Godinez came up big in a win against Washington (2/10) when he knocked in a runner on a long sacrifice fly that nearly left the park to tie the game at one heading into the fourth inning. He went 2-of-5 with an RBI on that day. Godinez had a game high four walks in the first game against Northern Iowa (3/3) when the Aggies were walked 13 times in the game. Godinez had his best game of the season against Northern Iowa (3/4) when he bolted in five runs and went 4-of-5 on a day that he got his first home run of the season and the school record for most runs in a game was broken. He would then go 2-for-3 in a close 9-8 win against WAC member Fresno State (4/2) accounting for two RBI. Godinez brought in four of the Aggies 13 runs in a 13-4 win against North Florida (4/14), and led the Aggies at the plate finishing the night a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored at San Jose (5/5). He would hit the ball three more times before the end of the season.

Junior College:  Godinez played at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M under Roger Ward from 2003-05.  He played in both regional and Junior College World Series as a sophomore and helped put together two 40-win seasons. 

High School:  Godinez attended Eisenhower High from 2000-02 and played varsity as a freshman under coach Bob Clarondon.  He then transferred to Redlands East Valley to play his senior year where they took first in the Citrus Belt League.

Personal:  Godinez is the son of Anita Godinez and was born in San Bernadino, Calif.  He is majoring in family and child science.
