Biography

Junior College: Loera played two years of junior college baseball at the New Mexico Military Institute located in Roswell, N.M.  His final year at NMMI (2011) Loera started at shortstop in all of the team's 56 games.  He ended the season with a .337 batting average, 25 RBIs, six doubles and four triples while being named the Bronco Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.  He started in a total of 107 out of 112 games during his two seasons at NMMI. While at NMMI, Loera maintained a 3.9 GPA and was named class valedictorian in 2011. 

High School: Loera played his high school baseball at Onate High School in Las Cruces, N.M.  During his junior year (2008), Loera was part of a team that won the   district championship and finished second in state.  As a senior in 2009, Loera was named to the all-district team.

Personal: Loera is the son of Fernando Loera and Barbara Loera.  He was born in Las Cruces, N.M., and graduated from Onate High School in 2009. He is majoring in mechanical engineering and enjoys golfing and shooting during his free time.
