Biography

Junior College: Willner played third base and pitched while attending Monterey Peninsula College. In 2008, he was named second team all-conference and earned a spot in the Sophomore Showcase All Star game. In 2009, Willner was first team all-conference selection and an all-Nor-Cal selection in the Coast Pacific league.

High School: Willner was a tri-athlete at Campbell Collegiate High School playing baseball, basketball and volleyball. Willner earned many honors for the sports he played including Rookie of the year in 2004 for both baseball and basketball. That year, all three sports he played for finished city champions. In 2006 and 2007, Willner was named MVP of his team for baseball as he helped his team finish fourth in 2006 and third in 2007 in league play. Willner was given the Leadership Award in 2006. From his first year at Campbell to his senior year, Willner was named the Campbell Collegiate Athlete of the Year (Male, 2004-06).  He also earned the Glen Szabo Award in 2007. 

Personal: Willner is the son of Greg Willner and Laurie Sampson. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and is majoring in kinesiology.
